Bruce MacLean, President of Nostalgic Vehicle Appraisals, founded his well-known appraisal company in 1991. Bruce had been actively involved in the Canadian collector car hobby since 1982 when he founded Nostalgic Auto Products, a supplier of a wide range of restoration parts and accessories. Encouraged by an increasing demand for professional quality vehicle appraisals Bruce commenced his appraisal business in 1991, and at the time of his joining the Professional Association of Vehicle Evaluators in 2006, has completed in excess of one thousand professional evaluations.
Those evaluation reports have been used to assist in buying and selling vehicles, securing financing, resolving divorce and estate litigation, and to obtain appropriate insurance coverage. Bruce is a recognized appraiser by the Manitoba Public Insurance Corporation (M.P.I.C.), and his expertise is frequently called upon by M.P.I.C. staff to assist in the fair settlement of insurance claims.
Bruce graduated from the University of Guelph in 1971, and spent a number of years in Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland. In 1981 he moved to Manitoba to work for Manitoba Agriculture. His love of cars soon took over and saw him found and develop Nostalgic Auto Products. Bruce continues his sales position with Keystone Ford Sales in Winnipeg, in addition to his Nostalgic Vehicle Appraisals responsibilities. For many years Bruce was concerned with the "uneven playing field" created by a lack of competence, credibility, and integrity within the Canadian special interest vehicle appraisal industry and it was this concern which led him to apply for membership, licencing, and insurance under the unique, P.A.V.E., Professional Errors & Omissions insurance program. Bruce is, in fact, the first "Out-of-Ontario" member of P.A.V.E.
Bruce is the first "Out-of-Ontario" member of P.A.V.E. and he looks forward to dealing with appraisal clients, not only in Manitoba but in the Northwest Ontario area including Kenora, Dryden, and Fort Francis.
Bruce also has extensive experience in the organization of collector vehicle shows, and he was the original organizer of the Steinbach, Manitoba "Wheels of Hope" show. This event has run annually since its inception in 1984. Bruce has also organized the Dugald, Manitoba, "Antique and Old Lace" car show, sponsored by The Costume Museum.
Bruce remains active in the Manitoba collector car movement with memberships in the Studebaker Driver's Club, The Manitoba Classic & Antique Automobile Club, The Legends Car Club, and The Gimli Car Club.
